Snakeskin and Leather :: Spotlight Weekly Link Up

Who doesn’t love designer collaborations?  Of course I rejoice when there’s a new one in town because it’s virtually a huge designer sale for us mere mortals.  Who won’t sing hallelujahs when closer-to-home retailers like Target, H&M and Kohls partner with high-end fashion brands like Marni, Narciso Rodriguez, Phillip Lim, Catherine Malandrino?  It’s an absolute dream when clothing that normally retails at more than $1,000 is marked down to as low as $50, right? :-)

But patience (plus an open mind!) is one virtue I exercise when dealing with designer collaborations.  I do check ‘em out but with the full knowledge that I can’t buy them as early as Day 1 of the launch.  Because whether I like it or not – $50 or so is still too much for this budget-minded mother of two. ;-)

So imagine me doing a happy dance when I found me a piece of the Altuzarra for Target collection at the clearance racks via this versatile top more or less 2 weeks after the launch of the designer collaboration! ♥

I’m so honored to be the featured blogger this week at the Life & Style Link Up for my hairstyle in my “Hammock and Palms” post last week.  Can’t thank these gorgeous ladies enough of the blogs Posh Pair and Design Life Diaries - don’t forget to check out their blogs as well! ;-)

Do check out and join my fun and precious linkups (and meet new friends along the way!) for the week.  Thanks for the invites… you all fabulous ladies!  ♥

I love the fact that you are so openly budget conscious and remind us that your chic looks don’t come with that $1,000 or even $50 price tag! We have so much in common. I love clothes and dressing and people never seem to believe that I spend very little on my clothes (aside from a few good investments). I really don’t think you need to or should spend a fortune to stay in style and be fashionable.

As usual thank you for linking up to the #reasonstodress real mom street style blog hop!

Hotness all around! Love the pairing of snakeskin and leather! The thing I appreciate most about this look is how it is fall appropriate, but also California temperature conscious! You definitely won’t have a heatstroke in this outfit and you look autumn ready!

Congrats on your feature!! You deserve it! And this look is fabulous! I still like to think that women over age 35 can be sexy, hip, and stylish without looking trampy. You nail it every time!! You may be the coolest dressed woman I know(: Susan

Holy moly sexy and edgy look. You rock the snakeskin printed top! Lucky that you got it on sale too. Why don’t we have a Target over here. You know I love designer collabs. Have a wonderful day Rebecca :D

Here I am… Indeed this is a great find! Hardly vintage though (two weeks after the collaboration), but trendy, beautiful and very becoming of you. This all together for a sweet price… Yes that makes you dance.
I think you styled it very well. Love the booties and the skirt with it. The top over the skirt makes the outfit a little bit more edgy than the top in the skirt. Is my humble opinion.
Oh and the bag is splendid too.

I’m very impressed with how you styled this look. It turned out so great. The colours are fantastic.

I got a few things from this line as well…the red velvet jacket, the snakeskin pencil skirt and bow blouse. When I saw this top it didn’t do anything for me on the hanger. You are really rocking it! You should have been the model. I would have bought it.

You look so stylish, and kuddos to waiting for the perfect opportunity to snag such a lovely shirt. Hope you can stop by sometime. Have a good Monday and week! Rachel xo

I do the same thing, especially when the pieces are really trendy, like the POW sweater from the Phillip Lim collection. I live in KY, so people don’t really snatch up the designer collabos because frankly, they don’t know who the designers are.
