Winter Basic :: The Military Coat

Happy New Year everyone!  It sure is great to get back to the grind after that hectic but truly dreamy holiday season.  And I think that there’s no better way to open another spanking new year than to go back to my blog’s original vision.  When I started blogging and still up to now – I vowed to myself that I will not shell out extra large bucks (Chanel and Chloe will really have to wait :-) ) just to keep my looks relevant for the blog.   I believe I have evolved a lot style-wise but I would like to think that I will always be that same old bargain hunter who plans every single purchase to the last detail.

So it’s back to closet shopping for my 1st post for 2016.  And I can’t be happier to re-wear my closet staples like my favorite fully- lined military-inspired coat and sweater dress to keep me warm and toasty from this colder-than-usual Winter we are having here at Southern California lately.

2015 has been an amazing year (albeit all the challenges) but I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for me on and off the blog.  And it would be a huge pleasure and honor to have you all join me in this exciting journey we all call life! ♥

I am SO about shopping the closet! I love this time of year when we reflect on the past year, take stock of where we are and prepare to move forward with excitement. May this year be a wonderful one for you, on and off the blog – and for us all! Xx

You know what I love most about your outfit, Rebecca? The fact that you’ve paired Red with Blue, and it looks nothing like a 4th of July outfit :) it just looks like the striking, stunning ensemble that it is xoxo

I love your coat, it is so adorable! I agree, shopping your own closet is a great way to go….! I love designer fashion, but I am a bargain shopper so that doesn’t always mix..ha..

    Have a great new year!’

Love that you’ve managed to keep up with your roots and avoided the consumerism seems part and parcel to fashion blogging! I love a good deal (I shop a lot, but most of it’s on sale at least), but I also love closet shopping. It’s so refreshing to find an old piece that you love like new since you haven’t seen/worn it for a couple of months (or in my case, a couple of years). And closet shopping is a great way to get creative in mixing and matching pieces.
