Winter Style :: Quilted Puffer Vest

To say that I’m a huge fan of the vest (especially the quilted puffer kind) is quite an understatement.  I have sworn my love for this super versatile layering piece ever since I stepped in U.S. shores a few years ago.  It’s the perfect match for Southern California’s eternally Spring temps!  Aside from its cozy warmth – I love how it can be dressed up or down all winter long.

I have an old faux fur-lined hooded one that I absolutely love to pieces and I have been on the hunt for another one for quite a while now before it wears out.  So I guess the stars aligned again for me when I found another vest (belt, buckles and pockets yay!!) of my dreams at the Banana Republic outlet last Black Friday.

On that note, I am already wishing everyone a festive yet sane, safe and stress-free holiday season! ♥

Giving Thanks

This will be a KISS (Keeping IShort and Sweet)….to let everyone enjoy the biggest of holidays!

I can’t say it enough….but I truly have so much to be thankful for!

  • My family (kids, mom, sisters, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins) ♥
  • My multi-tasking best friend cum photographer cum fashion critique all rolled into one (how can I be that blessed???) ♥
  • All other friends and colleagues from the Philippines (I miss all of you sooo much) and the USA (who have made my stay here as bearable as possible….yes, I’m a recent LA transplant) ♥

And to my new found friends from the blogging world… all have been so warm and welcoming to a not-so-young :-) and newbie blogger like me.  We may not have met each other personally, but I feel like I’ve known all of you awesome and fashionable ladies and gentlemen forever.  For that, I feel like I’m the most blessed woman this side of the planet!!! ♥

Facebook Frenzy

Love it or hate it…..Facebook is here to stay (hello IPO!).  It has already become a “way of life” for most of us.  Funny, but I get a dose of daily news of my faraway native land from it.  It’s been getting a lot of flak lately for privacy and a number of other issues. But I think that if used on a positive note, it makes reconnecting with long-lost relatives, classmates, colleagues, easier and more fun.

I must admit that I got a lot of inspiration (or maybe I’ve outgrown it) for starting a blog of my own from the social networking giant. Random status updates, “likes,” comments, photo uploads, all fired me up to start my own online scrapbook project.

Here are some of my top 10 personal do’s and don’ts though, which make Facebook-ing a fun and fulfilling experience for me.  Who knows, it might also work for you:

  1. Don’t overshare….forgive me for being Captain Obvious here but please no TMI and drama is better kept offline.  Give your friends a break, they want to have fun;
  2. Don’t take Facebook too seriously….Keep it fun, light and baggage-free
  3. Don’t write it if you have nothing positive or good to say….always think twice before you hit the enter key….you’ll thank me for this someday;
  4. Don’t be afraid to “unfriend” people who are negative or will weigh you down;
  5. Don’t overshare your personal information….beware of identity thieves lurking around;
  6. Do maximize/make full use of Facebook’s privacy and classification settings…’s crafted especially for all of us;
  7. Do categorize/classify/compartmentalize your friends and relatives….again, you’ll thank me for this someday.  Some stuff are not fit for your mothers or daughters to see!
  8. Do settle for “quality over quantity” where friend-ing is concerned.
  9. Do refrain from posting disturbing and gory/bloody images or pictures…. Again, please give your friends a break!
  10. Do strive to be original with everything (or repost with permission)….nothing irks anyone more than copying your friends’ status update(s).

When everything has been said and done, always stick to the Golden Rule!

Happy Friday everyone! :-)
