Baciano Summer

Hello everyone!   I am quite back and I can’t believe that the blogging landscape has dramatically changed since I logged out in March.  Last time I checked (I did a research for about a week now, when I started working on this post), even my favorite top bloggers who used to pull in about a hundred or so comments, are now down to just 50-ish comments or so.  What is going on?  Does nobody read blogs anymore?  Is everyone really just stuck at Instagram? (I love it though! Follow me here)  Even Facebook pages are lagging behind!  So many questions but one thing I am sure of is,  I am totally enjoying a pressure-free life outside of blogging.

And it is now so obvious that only Los Angeles-based indie brands like BACIANO could pull me out of blog hibernation.  Who can ever say no to this gorgeous palazzo pants that I can’t stop wearing since I got it from the mail?  I have been mixing and matching it with almost everything in my closet and I even bravely marched to work this week wearing it! ♥

Kameleonz Sunglasses

I really won’t mind if Summer never ends in Los Angeles or at the blog as well.  With the temps up into the triple digits last weekend….I guess it’s not time to stash away those fun denim cutoffs, wedge sandals, chiffon tops and mirrored sunnies just yet! :-)

So it is with great joy that I unveil another end-of-season collaboration with KAMELEONZ – a unique brand of high-quality interchangeable sunglasses meant for the beach and beyond.  Yes you read it right everyone – mix and match sunnies at the flick of a finger and with a wide array of color combos (triple sets, full sets, solos, side arms) to choose from (you could even create your own here!)….how cool is that? ♥

It’s been a blast since I got my SAHARA Full Set – switching side arms depending on my mood and outfits – life’s indeed a beach with KAMELEONZ! ;-)

Paisley Flair

A great pair of printed palazzos a.k.a. wide leg pants is definitely on top of my Spring-Summer 2014 wish list.  I already have a black palazzo pair for years now (recently worn here) and it’s probably one of the most-worn piece of clothing in my closet.  It has been getting it’s share of wear and tear already so I’m quite apprehensive to get a reliever of sorts to keep it from falling apart. :-)

So it is absolutely a match made in style heaven when I first laid eyes on this lovely pair at my friendly neighborhood Marshalls.   I can’t get over the pretty paisley prints and how über comfy it is that I can foresee myself wearing it all over town this Summer. ♥

And I’d like to take this opportunity to address your queries about that hair. :-)   Here’s the honest rundown:  it’s all mine, no extensions but I definitely am a fan of color and highlights (and lowlights too).   It’s not totally effortless as I get a lot of help from the curling iron.  But probably what makes it healthier is….drum roll please…..I don’t shampoo everyday!  I wash it every 2-3 days, making dry shampoo my new BFF.  And I have observed that my hair looks its bedhead-best on the 2nd and 3rd day.  My current obsession, however, is learning how to do the fish tail braid all by myself. ;-)

It is always my pleasure to be a part of a lovely community of bloggers who never fail to send me invites to join their fun link ups:

Back to the 70′s

I may be a child of the 80′s but I have always been a huge fan of everything about the 70′s….the music (I’m a certified disco kid and Donna Summer is my muse :-) ), the TV shows (Charlie’s Angels!), the hairstyles (which explains my everlasting love for the Farrah Fawcett shaggy and feathered ‘do :-) ), and most of all THE fashion (wrap dresses, midi skirts, jumpsuits, huge chain belts, flared/bell bottom jeans, platform heels….yay!) ♥

Finally finding this belt of my dreams a few weeks back at Marshalls really got me excited to replicate the look of that era. :-) And this monochromatic black 70′s-inspired outfit served as the perfect palette for this colorful and highly versatile polka dot scarf I chose from FRAAS‘ fabulous Spring-Summer 2014 collection.  You may call 212-575-0191 if you want to order this specific scarf which comes in a rainbow of colors such as turquiose, yellow, pink, green and taupe or check other lovely pieces at Amazon.

By the way, why don’t you hop on over to my pretty friend Paige’s blog Life’s A Party Dress Like It where yours truly will take over the reins while she takes a vacay at the fabulous Cabo San Lucas! ♥

It’s totally a crazy busy week here at the blog.  Yours truly is also the featured blogger and co-host at THE HUMP DAY BLOG HOP….a midweek link party created by my fit and fab friend Liz Taylor of the FITNESS BLONDIE.  So hop on over to her blog now to join the fun and get fitness tips along the way! ♥

Review: ADORE ME

blue-corsetCan anything scream Valentine’s Day (4 more days baby! ;-)) more than sexy lingerie?  I was quite appalled when I got the invite last December from the lovely peeps of Adore Me to handpick a favorite from their awesome collection of the sexiest and most luxurious lingerie.  It actually took me quite a while to take the next step until I found this lovely Rufina corset (it comes with a black lace cheeky panty).  It was love at first sight knowing that I can also wear this pretty little thing mostly outside the bedroom.

But wearing the Rufina corset is another story. The pretty lace-up back (so reminded me of those Victorian-era corsets), easy front-clasp closure and semi-flexible boning for structure, made it fit like a glove (I swear I did not pull it the whole time I wore it given that I’m quite challenged in that area :-)) and truly enhanced my curves. I, however, wore it with a strapless bra for more support. ♥

I admit that I toyed with the idea of wearing this sexy cobalt blue corset with jeans or leather skirt but later on I deemed it wise to stick to my style dictum which I’d like to share to all you young ladies out there……don’t wear all your sexy (a.k.a. tight) little things in one look.  If you expose something up there…..then cover up down there (or vice versa!) ;-)
